Since the start of his career, Albaraa Shafi has contributed to the investigation, prototyping, and
deployment of several research and development projects in quantum communication,
computing, sensing, and cryptography. Albaraa has been building and leading programs in
quantum technologies in Saudi Arabia, where he trained researchers and engineers to tackle
challenges that are fundamental to building quantum systems. In addition to establishing
effective collaborations with local and international research institutions. Albaraa has extensive
experience in superconducting quantum circuits, including cryogenics engineering, nano-
fabrication, material characterization, and quantum benchmarking. His work spans device
design, low-temperature measurement, algorithm implementation, and system-level optimization
for superconducting quantum computing.
